Which of the following is the main reason why the boston media unfairly label(target) the CV community as a troubled community?
There are no strong CV community leaders who can potentially get a reporter or a public official fired. An example would be: Al Sharpton. He can and has gotten several reporters and officials fired for making racist an inaccurate comments towars AAs

The CV community is a relatively apathetic community. People who don't vote are subject to be marginalized

The sheer small size of the CV community is the reason why the powers-that-be from the boston media think they can reign in and target the Verdeans.

One thing I and many other Cape Verdeans have noticed is that the Boston print and tv media unfairly target the Cape Verdean community for being a troubled community? Most Cape Verdeans are peaceful and extremely hardworking. Only a tiny minority of American raised youngsters in the CV community exhibit traits of violence that they adopted from the violent American culture. But the fact that these cv kids are products of the American culture which glamorizes violence are hardly ever pointed out by the powers-that-be from the boston media. Why? I wonder if the main reason are those posted in the poll. Please do vote and give your 2cents.

They are not targeting no one, youth in your community is doing bad stuff and getting our name in the news.
The first step to fix a problem is acceptance. Boston, we have a problem.

Here is one of the main reasons we have much youth violence in our community: we Cape Verdeans, especially the parents live in constant state of DENIAL. Everybody's kid is "um santo rapaz, ketu", even after they shoot somebody or get shot. This it doesn't happen in my back yard attitude is hurting us, my people.
Instead, let's WAKE UP and admit we have a pathology of serial killing among us. Let's admit our kids need professional help and bring them to the excellent hospitals and health centers we have in Boston.

Let's let art imitate the reality and learn with the top mob and mafia boss from the entretainment world, Tony Soprano from the HBO series Sopranos:
he goes to a psicologyst everytime he faces a troubling issue because even though he's a tough Italian Macho, he admits he needs professional help to solve his problems.
Let's put our ego down and bring our kids to professionals that can help them.
