I don't want to be negative or desagreable, I love any sports but,

In Brockton, there is a need for a more attention (BY MAYOR) to soccer as it is for other sports like basebal and football. The soccer field where the players perform are, most of them, in bad shape if you compare with the importance given to those other sports. Soccer is important for CV and other minority community as a way of sporting.

We know soccer is not the main sports in US, but the main purposes of any sports is physical, moral, and psychological developement of individuals and in that they are all the equally important.

We need to come together to beat them in the ballots if they don't support what is important to cv youth.

During one of the games in Pick Field, in Brockton MA, betwenn Warren ave and Pleasant, a major soocer match was taking place. There were hundreds of people enjoyng their afternoon in the field watching one game they like and support the players. Most of the people were capeverdeans with their children and friends supporting one game very important to them.

There was the place where few "bandits" chose to go play shooting at each other. Several bullets were shot - some say seven. They were doing like in movies hiding and shooting amongst all the people present during the show. Brockton police was called to stop the incident. Fortunatelly no one got out hurt but it could be worse.

Nonetheless, the following week, yesterday, May 10 -07 after only one week of the incident, there was taking place a very interesting match between two NELASA team going on with hundreds of people watching, children playing again and everybody enjoying their afternoon at the field. The sad and enraging part was that there was no Police around to prevent any people from being killed or hurt by such bandits or any types of incident - one viewer said. Chlidren were playing, families, young boys and girls all support their sports.

That is unconceivable on the part of local authorities in Brockton because at least in that field was the place with the highest concentration of people in whole Brockton and a security issue would raise unquestionably. I think they pretend they don't know untill an incident occur and blame it on us.

Is that how Brockton Police treats the Cape Verdean community gatherings?
