I would like to offer my sincere condolences to the Montrond family for their loss. He is just a causality of an unjust war, but a HERO to us.
Also, I would like to take the opportunity to warn families about the ROTC programs at our schools, they are just hooks for army enlistment. Our children are bright enough to get scholarships without the “lifetime” risk of the G.I. Bill.
We come from a peaceful country and feel proud that our kids can earn the “American Dream” without risking their lives. Readers should talk to parents to pressure the guidance counselors to remove their kids from such programs.
