Greetings:
CABO as an organization is a conscious initiatve that has been in the sentiment of many people within the general Capeverdean-American community.
However due to the complexity of our community, lack of a centralized leadership and the fragmantation of our approach in resolving our most urgent social issues it has made this arrival a long time coming.
Through my experience I have noticed that we spend way too much time on critizing as opposed to organizing and stratergizing.
In an analogy of biology, CABO will be a metamorphosis of sentiments to applicable action.
Allowing for better networking between Capeverdean business owners and professionals which should lead to us promoting and doing more business with eachother. This in reality may be the greatest form of trust we can instill on one another.
Besides business the exchange of ideas will make us collectivelly better educated and more councious about the society we live in.
Bridging the gap between 2nd, 3rd generation Capeverdean-Americans with the recent Capeverdean-Americans and immigrant community is something we should collectively work towards.
Lastly, organizing for the sake participating in the development of Cape Verde, as a way of getting our sentiments and ideas heard and taken seriously.
These are some of the key objectives of CABO as an entity, nevertheless water does seek it's own level and I hope that my anticipated level is realistic.
