well it seems to me that I've been hearing about how so many Cape Verdeans are getting deported. Well I don't think it's safe to send all the rapists, drug dealers and killers back because the people back home are becoming their victims and suffering the consequences for their criminals action they learn and developed in America.

Deporting them to Cape Verde doesn't solve anything since become free once they get there and start the crime live all over again, this time in a society where police and people don't have enough resources to fight those types of criminals such as gang ciolence and organized crime. As a result, they start to rule and terrorize small communities and neighborhoods in different islands such as Fogo, Brava, Santiago.

On the other hand there are a lot of the deportees who sincerely regret their life style and what to change for the better. I personally know some people who got deported but they are willing to start a decent life and do good. shouldn't they be given a second chance? Question Mad

So, the issue here is:

- Should the people in Cape Verde pay the burden of dealind with some criminals - some of them American citizens - who learn the criminal life and comminted their crime here in America?

- Should the deportees that sincerely regret their old life style and want to come back to America and live a decent life deserve a second chance?

Yes, they should be deported to Cape Verde because many of them came from there and didn't take the chance given to them to have a better life here in the US. On the contrary, they decided to cause pain and suffering to other.

The only problem is that they should be deported to directly to jails in Cape Verde instead of beeing let free to live among decent people. How come hard core criminals live impune just because they were sent to another country? Both the US and Cape Verdean governments should establish protcols to send them strainght from the planes to jail. No mercy to hard core "bandidos."

For the deportees to be sent to prison in Cape Verde for crimes they comminted in America, the US government has to provides their files and cases to the Cape Verdean authorities because in a democratic country like Cape Verde they cannot be send to jail without a due process or a court order based on a criminal sentence.

But from what I've heard from the grape vine, usually the US authorities in Boston don't want to provide those case because it can be seen as an invasion of the US sovereignity. Anybody else knows any more information about the reasons the US officials don't disclose those files to the CV authorities?

True but this process has to be done very carefully because many times people get harsh penalty for innocent misbehavior.

I never knew that there were so many idiots in the US. Your whole perspective on things are screwed. You are too emotional, and unfortunately clueless with a major responsibility to vote in the future of the islands. I've seen you defending plagiarism because of it's source, blaming US for deportees, stating your meter of capeverdeanity by how deep are you rooted in Santiago, defending ALUPEC, having some leaders that are not worthy, from fraudulent to Pedophiles...
Please, go to any of your big stores buy a mirror and just listen to your deeper level of consciousness stating "idiot"

THE USA HAS THE RIGHT TO DEPORT ANY ONE WHO VIOLATES THE US CODE OF JUSTICE---I PERSONALLY DO NOT FEEL SORRY FOR ALL OF THOSE PERSON[S[ WHOM HAVE BEEN DEPORTED.

AS A AMERICAN CITIZEN I WAS GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO SEEK MY LEVEL EXCELLENCES,IE EDUCATION ETE,ETC

THOSE DEPORTEE'S WERE GIVEN THE SAME OPPORTUNITY TO ACHIEVE
THEIR LEVEL OF COMPETENCE------AGAIN, DO NOT BLAME OTHER FOR THERE DOWNFALL---------------BECAUSE I DO NOT BLAME ANYONE FOR MY SHORTCOMINGS

where else are we going to send people from cv? should we send them to another country then? they did come from cv. i was born and raised in cv and i can honestly say that lots of deportees aremaking the living situation worse for people of cv, especially for those who never had the chance to come to the US and try to do something. it also messes it up for those who do want to come because their chances because slimmer because they will continue to change immigration laws to make them harder for everyone. in a way we all suffer so there really is no clear answer for this...other than stop getting into trouble and become a responsible individual. and if they are deporting ppl they should send them all to sao nicolau and let then reconstruct the island and they can live there. if they become fit individuals for society then they can be put amongst the civilized---no offense
