Greetings.

The double edge sword cuts both ways nevertheless when mastered it’s incredible.
Cabo-Verde (CV) has an opportunity of doing a great thing but does it have the fortitude.

Every and any conscious respectful citizen should at least question the integrity and objective of his or her government in which at its core basic foundation is to defend the self interest amongst its people or public in the most prudent manner.

CV has struggled to establish and then sell at a discount most of its greatest public establishments at a pace arguably to rapid for its own reality. Nevertheless, today it has an economic double edge sword which I will refer to as the Millennium Challenge Account.

The fact is that majority of CV Diaspora resides in the very country which offered this double edge sword; in fact the very account was made possible through work of Capeverdeans decedents whom resides in US.

The fact is that the real natural resource which CV has exported in the past 100 years has been it’s own people through immigration however many of these generations have not gone back to contribute intellectually in a significant way.

Another fact is that besides its people CV’s strategic location is its gift to the rest of the Globe. It was so over 500 years ago to Spain & Portugal and remains so to the entire globe besides its natural beauty.

My skepticism of the wealthy leads me to believe that they never give anything for free and if they do offer something what they usually want it in return 3 folds or more. So what does the biggest imperial power in the world today want from CV?

If it’s not its human resource (which I doubt) then it must be its strategic location.
Which is good, however a conniving economic jargornot gives you a double edge sword for a reason and that reason is to take it back with interest.(like magic but yet just an illusion).

This means that CV gets these nine figure accounts which they then have to put up for bids. Such cash scent bids will immediately attract many European and American consultant to approach CV like ants to a picnics.
In some cases, these consultants will quickly woo the proud government to sleep, bring in their second rate corporations which have a tendency of overcharging 3rd world governments and so they return back to Europe & US with the same money which was offered with interest to boast.

However, this sword cuts both ways so the second way must be used to cut the first, (it’s a Paradox) which means CV must do everything it can to keep as much of this capital recycled within its own economy.

You do this by first promoting Cape Verdeans to bid for these contracts in a fare manner. There are more than enough capeverdeans within all industries capable of brokering deals or consulting CV in many of these projects. The end result is that Cape Verdeans will in most part reinvest back in Cape Verde.

The second way is that you deal hard and tough with all of the potential international interest whenever it is clear that some Cape Verdeans interested is just not qualified or available.

The third way is that there has to be some loophole within the Cape Verde's tax system to recover some of these dollars through fees, tax, inflation, donation, or guidelines.
It’s never what you say; it’s always how you say it that matters at least in forming policies & legislation.

I seriously hope that some of the more creative, proud and ambitious Cape Verdeans-American can see this double edge sword for what it is because this is one party which we should not mind "rusga" which means show up uninvited.

In closing, when its election time they all show up for campaign contribution and votes. These votes are worth a premium and now it’s the right time to remind these people. Although timetables are set and certain stipulation confirmed, Cape Verde still holds certain discretion and some of us should wake up from this American Dream hibernation and pursue of the real cream.
Surprised

KIKO that is a great and well written piece of work well thought out.
Just let me say that from a grass roots person much of it goes over my head, but what I get from it;and what most Caboverdean people get with our limited education,is we think that you are trying to save our country from the vicious vultures who would like to charms us out of our Islands in the atlantic because while we may not have Gold-Oil- or Diamonds our location gives any big power a very big advantage in the scheme of globilization. As they say in the USA it is all about location, location.

Nobody gives any body money with out some strings attached,The question is are we prepared to deal with this economic development to the reality and actuality for the people of Cabo Verde.

Will we get the real cream or just a dream on an illusion and deception based on imperialism to have power and control.

While we want to reconstruct and develop our nation for the benefit of the people of Cabo Verde that we the poor in the mountains and the valley low, become the true benefactors,or will it become a land to make some very rich and keep the poor very poor. Will Cabo Verde become a nation of permissive petite bourgeoisie a middle man entrepreneur ?

We the very poor working class and the underworking class or maybe some of us have no class. What can happen to what we thought was going to be liberty and justice for all. Who is going to protect the greater number of our people. Are we prepared? We hope that those of you who we hope that will be our salvation will not disappoint us who look to you all, that say Viva Cabo Verde.

It is one of the reasons we love Amilcar Cabral for he has said that we would become a better nation that will be victorious.

We don't understand politics,we don't understand economics, what we do understand is to have enough food to eat,to have medicine ,hospitals and Doctors to help us to have better health and education,to have honest leaders to guide us and to make a good life. We suggest that those who have gone to the Universities & Colleges will help us in our economic independence and structuring the economy and the development of production.

To eliminate poverty and sickness to eliminate exploitation.

We think that while this process is in the works that the government will explain to us what is the intention for our future. What does the revolution mean for us. We hope we don't see those who said we fought for liberty only to see them become rich at the expense of the poor.

Well that is all we have to say,the people have spoken. Please help us to understand better this game of survival. People talk about all the many isms but we don't understand that, but we remember what Amilcar Cabral said when he was alive. Now we depend on the skills of you all who are the thinkers and the theorist who make the analysis of the class struggles as it realates to this historical development.

So therefore we encourage those of you who will make this debate of our national liberation relevant to our lives. We know just a little but we know that there is a distinctive strategy based upon meticulous study of the condtions in our country.

For us it is not just about the name of a party it is about the realistic results for our people and our progress. All for one and One for all.

Peace & Morabeza with a clear mind. A peaceful collaboration with all the peoples of the world on the basis of principles of mutal respect, national sovereignty, terrotorial integrity,non-aggression and non interference in internal affairs, equality and reciprocity of advantages, and peaceful co-existence. To be sober minded in order to transform.

THIS IS OUR DIGNITY.
THIS IS WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A CABOVERDIANO e CABOVERDIANA.

Thank you.
Manu Salah of the people.
Viva Povo Caboverdiano.
A Lutta Continuna.

any challenge is at double sword, it is the essence of yin and yang. The devloppement and the millenium challenge account are a chance for cape-verde and will bring bad things to capeverde as well. The good politicians are the one who will have a vision and will manage to control the bad sides of these opportunities.

As I explained before, the usa money is not for free. But capeverde can ask a lot of things to the usa. As i told in other sites, capeverde can ask for example that the usa war vessels have to stop in mindelo when cruising the atlantic, they can ask, free access for cv students to american universities, no visa for usa travels for less than 3 months, they can ask for the usa to buy for a fixed amount of cv products(fruits and grog) every year....

It will get done with prudence on time and with expert efficiency.
That is why Ambassador Brito is now Minister in charge of the MCA.
He is more then qualified and a very honest and honorable. The investment will be worth my tax payers dollar. Brito is trust worthy and
a great human being the salt of the earth.
Manu Salah Cool Very Happy
