A familia Goncalves dedica o poema embaixo a memoria do querido irmao Horacio e aproveita para agradecer a todos aqueles que compartilharam connosco a
nossa dor.
A petition to heaven
“Dja N ba”
“I love you all”.
He leaves
before mid night
on Mother’s Day.
Flowers to paradise
angels help him deliver.
Mother Nhanha, arms
opened, waits impatiently
at the Olympus main gate.
Bring me the cross.
softly he recites:
Our father which art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name…
Wait for me at “Astraea Road”.
Refuse not
the heavenly petition.
From St. Peter’s Hospital
under the whispers of prayers
and sobs he departs
not afraid to accept
the Promised Land.
A pioneer,
a visionary,
new challenges,
he always embraced.
St. Peter’s gate
opens wide.
A welcoming hug,
loving kisses
his mother offers.
Together they cross
“Astraea Road”
under divine chants
eternal sound of trumpets.
Amongst angels
they tour paradise.
There is no final destination
My son, he hears
you are special
you’ve reaped the fruits
you have sown. Your soul
belongs to me the Creator
you loved and served.
